While typography is not a common interest, it is one of my more prominent interests. I only really became interested in the more detailed aspects about typefaces and such a year ago, but since then, typography is one of my time-killers when I'm bored.
For those who don't know, typography is the art, and in a way study, of arranging type in an aesthetically pleasing way. My personal interests go less with the arranging and setting, but more with the wide variety of typefaces. If you've ever used a program to type up an essay or a project, then you have some experience with typefaces. Most people often confuse typefaces with fonts, and they aren't truly wrong in that aspect. On a computer, typefaces and fonts are the exact same things because the all the little things that make up a font, such as weight, boldface, italics, size, etc., can be changed so easily that they just put it all under one definition.
